Hogwarts Legacy seems to expand locations outside Hogwarts, such as the Forbidden Forest, Hogsmeade Village, and possibly the countryside. The last Harry Potter games I played somewhat that had some open-world gameplay were the Playstation 3 versions of Order Of The Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince. Ever since I was younger, I wished for a Harry Potter-based game that would be open world and have the whole magical experience, not featured in the movie licensed games. I grew up watching all the films, reading the novels, and playing their subsequent games. Words can not explain my excitement for this upcoming game as a massive Harry Potter fan. It seems that the story details of Hogwarts Legacy are still a mystery and kept under wraps. This plot detail is unique, as we are used to seeing student start their magical journey at a young age. In the Harry Potter films and novels, students would enroll in Hogwarts as a first-year or when they are near the age of eleven. Additionally, the Hogwarts Legacy State Of Play featured players being able to get sorted in their preferred Hogwarts houses (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff).Ī notable highlight in the gameplay feature is that players will start the game as fifth-year Hogwarts students and start late in their magical careers. We see the players in common rooms for each house, sporting their respective robes. Avalanche Software and Portkey Games say that Hogwarts Legacy follows the wizarding world lore set out in the original Harry Potter novels but is an original story from the studio, not written by.
